Calendar
Nativity Events in the United States, 2026–27
Crèche festivals, living nativities, Moravian candle teas and Las Posadas: the dated events of the season, from early November to Epiphany, month by month.
This page lists events with dates: festivals of nativity sets that last a weekend or a week, living nativities that run a few nights, Moravian traditions in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, and Las Posadas in the Southwest. For places you can visit all season long, such as museums and cathedrals, see where to see nativity scenes in the United States.
The 2026 calendar at a glance: Thanksgiving is November 26, the First Sunday of Advent is November 29, Christmas falls on a Friday, and Epiphany is celebrated in the United States on Sunday, January 3, 2027. For what to do at home on each of those days, see when to put up the nativity.
How to read this page
Four labels, and one piece of advice
- Confirmed
- The 2026 dates are posted on the organizer’s own website.
- Every year
- The date follows a fixed rule, like December 16 to 24 for Las Posadas or Christmas Eve, so it doesn’t change from year to year.
- Usual
- The event comes back every year, but the 2026 dates weren’t posted yet when we checked. We give the last dates we could confirm.
- Reported
- We only found it in a reliable outside source, such as local news or the Friends of the Creche directory, not on a page from the organizer.
Please use this calendar as a guide only. Churches and volunteer groups sometimes change a date, skip a year or run out of tickets. Check with the organizer before you travel. This page was last checked on October 1, 2026, and we’ll add dates as they’re announced.
